The Dora High School Marching Band would like to thank the University of Alabama's Colorguard for coming to our Homecoming game.

Dora High homecoming has always been huge. Alumni from all over gather to
cheer on their Alma mater and relive their high school memories of victories
and defeats. But the 2006-2007 homecoming became more than a homecoming.
Dora Bulldogs took on Corner Yellow Jackets, a rivalry that has been
legendary in the past years when it came to football.. This year Dora Band
and Color Guard stole the show with help from friends in T-Town.

The Alabama Crimson Tide Color Guard paid a visit as guest of the Dora Band
and Color Guard at the Dora vs. Corner game. The girls from Alabama are
friends to Caitlin 'Tink' Swindle. Caitlin plays the clarinet in the Dora
Band. After the Dora Band played for the homecoming court they joined the
Alabama Color Guard in the stands for a unexpected show.

Dora Band played loud and proud as the Alabama and Dora Color Guard rocked
the stands. The Alabama Color Guard performed one or two of their routines
and picked up Dora Color Guards moves and gave the crowd a show!!

Corner started a battle of the bands in the third quarter by playing and
yelling War Eagle. This sent the Dora Band and Color Guard along with the
Alabama Color Guard into full battle. The battle took over as the football
game rolled on. The crowds attention was not on the game but on the stands
as Dora Band took the spotlight when the battle came to an end.

The Alabama Color Guard signed autographs, posed for pictures with future
color guard girls and band members and gave Dora Band and Color Guard their
support to victory over Corner.

Today (Saturday) the kids were hitting myspace talking about these amazing
women that made the trip here to hang with the dawgs.

Football brings intense action, fearless competition, and dramatic helmet
crashing moments of the game that makes us proud to be in the stands
supporting our teams. But the band and color guard brings the high notes,
detailed formations, smooth moves and unprecedented pride for their schools
and teams. Most of us can't walk and chew gum at the same time much less
count steps, stay in formation, play the notes, twirl, spin and watch the
drum major at all times.
