Marching Band Intent Form/Band Fee Contract

 

As we near the end of the school year, it is time for me to make plans for the upcoming school year. In an effort to keep track of what is going on, I am sending out intent forms and band fee contracts to all parents. We all know that in order for our students to have success in the band program, we have to pay band fees. The bands fees help the program run, financially. I will try to set out in detail where these funds go. Please make plans now to help your student be successful in this area. I would love to them all return to program next year!

Band Fee Payment Plan

 

 

  Band Fees            $250

Break down of band fees.

 

Here is a general overview of how band fees are used to run the program.

 

Uniform maintenance -- $20- $30 includes garment bags, raincoats, uniform cleaning

Band T-shirt - $10

Contest, Honor Band fees, etc. -- $100 - $200

Maintenance of Band Equipment -- $100- $1000

Bus Fees (games, contest, etc) -- $50 - $100

Miscellaneous Items -- $100 - $200

Abuse of a band instrument - $100 - $4000!!!

 

 

Financially, it takes thousands and thousands of dollars to run a successful band program. You want the best for your students, and so do their boosters and teachers. It is impossible to run the program without financially assistance. Fundraisers don’t always go the way they should, so we need extra help.

 

This year I have implemented an instrumental rental fee for students that are using school owned instruments. I am sorry to have to do this but it must happen. I watched many of our instruments go through unnecessary abuse last year. Unfortunately, we do not have the best instruments out there so we must take care of what we have.

BAND CAMP IS NOT OPTIONAL!!! If you are planning to be in the band during the 2009-2010 season, you are expected to attend every rehearsal, unless there are severe issues. We will be learning music and drill, and it is impossible to have rehearsals when bodies are missing!!

 

 

PARENTS NEEDED!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Not only do we need your financial support, we need your physical and mental support! As you know the concession stand and parking are our gateway to funds (limited funds). We can use able bodies to help park cares and serve in the concessions. We can also use your ideas with fundraisers and other improvements that are needed around the band room. Most importantly, it would be nice to rotate chaperones during away games, competitions, and travel. I would love to have parents help us out in the stands as well. One pair of eyes is never enough, and I could use help keeping the “unwanteds” out of the band area during games. If you would like to be a part of the Dora High School Band Parent Association, please fill out the form below and return it with your child’s information. Meetings will be held on the 2nd Monday of every month at 7:00pm. Please try to make the meetings. WE NEED YOU!!!
